This week’s PIF is all about June bloom. People who work in packaging and design deserve a round of applause today because they are just so darn creative. You guys just get me. You know how to dress that product up, make it look so pretty that I just HAVE to stop in my track and walk into the store. Then I rudely said “Fine, thank you” even before the salesperson got to finish her “hello” and went straight to the shelf to pick you up. This post is for all you pretty packages out there, that not only make me look/smell good, but you also contribute a little something to our planet.
1. Terre d’Oc Argan Oil (UK) – I saw this online and my gawd, just take my money already. The boxes are FSC-certified and open up like pretty flowers. Also, the latest launch comes in a box that unfolds to reveal all sorts of marketing glamor. This product is organic, dermatologically-tested, cruelty-free, incorporate environmental and sustainable standards, and are free form parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oils, carmine, and artificial preservatives, colours and fragrances. The company also donates 1% of funds to fair trade projects. I’ve never tried this, but if you have used argan oil, I’d love to hear about your experience.
2. Decléor Aroma Pureté Ylang Ylang Purifying Serum (UK) – This gorgeous product uses different kinds of flowers like Madagascan ylang ylang essential oil, sage, rosemary and lemon aromatherapeutic active essential oils, passion fruit and anti-oxidant camellia. This is also 100% natural, non-greasy, dry-finish, and free from paraben, preservative, mineral oil and colorant. Oh yea, it’s also FSC-certified.
3. Shu Uemura Celestial Garden (US) – This collection for Spring/Summer 2012 has light floral shades. The packaging has delicate graphics and the blush comes in an innovative dome case that you can glide onto your cheeks! Now that’s some creative thinking. I also want to point out that the packaging is also FSC-certified, which rewards companies for responsible forest management.
That’s it for Friday! I’ll also be posting my first product review tomorrow. *GASP*
